This is where transformation lives - not in the before or after but in the tender, uncertain middle. The In-Between holds all possibility, all potential, all the beautiful chaos of change. Here we're suspended between states, neither here nor there, but gloriously, courageously in-between.
I painted these pieces in that exhilarating space between careers - hair and makeup behind me, painting ahead, six months before COVID arrived. This series captures that breathless in-between space, the beautiful uncertainty of choosing a new path. Each piece explores liminal moments in nature - rock pools, fossils, tidal marks, sandstorms - all suspended between states, just like I was. The In-Between celebrates the freedom of leaving what's familiar and trusting the tide will carry us somewhere new. This was transformation full of wonder, full of possibility, full of hope.
